WHO WE ARE
Soul Food Section is a distributor of Bibles, children's books, Christian greeting cards, and inspirational gifts. We were originally part of Oscar's Greeting Cards, a small distribution company run by Oscar Schwitzerlette and his son, Jonathan. Soul Food Section was born out of that family business in 2018 to fill a large gap in the market created by the closing of traditional Christian bookstores. Since we began, we've expanded our West Virginian market into Virginia, Ohio, Kentucky, North Carolina, Tennessee, and Pennsylvania, and our sales suggest we won't stop expanding any time soon. Despite our growth, we remember our roots; we know how important local businesses are to their communities, which is why we want to make sure your customers can find goods that support their faith wherever they may be.

Christian Bookstores are closing! Why invest in products similar to a failing company's?
In the age of e-commerce, investing in large brick-and-mortar Christian Bookstores no longer makes financial sense. However, faith-based products are still in high demand. Like many butcher shops, produce stands, bakeries, florists, and pharmacies, we realized that it often makes more sense to operate under a diversified roof, like a grocery store. Hence the name, Soul Food Section.
Faith-based products are a multi-billion-dollar industry? C'mon, really?
Yes! Annually! The Bible is the best-selling book in the world, selling over 20 million copies every year in the US alone. Consider that we often sell our other products even faster than our Bibles, and you'll start to see why we have grown so quickly, and why a Soul Food Section belongs in your store.
What will my profits be like? How quickly will your stock sell in my store?
Mark-up is 30-40% of retail price depending on the product, and our stock typically sells in 30-90 days. If it hasn't sold by then (which is rare), we'll swap it out for something better.
How much space do you need? What if I don't have enough?
We generally recommend anywhere from 5 to 16 square feet of floor space, but we're as flexible as you need us to be. We'll match your needs and create a Soul Food Section that's perfect for your store, big or small.
How much of this is my responsibility? What will it cost me?
Your only expenses will be initial and ongoing inventory, which ranges from $375-$975 to start. We install our displays, clean them, and maintain them for free. Set us up with your receiving department and we'll do the rest.
Which products do you sell the most?
Our most popular items are our greeting cards, religious box cards, children's books, and Bibles. Along with these, we constantly update our gift items and other stock to stay up-to-date with what your customers want.
